3.73's and a vig3200??? anyone have this combination? how do you like it for racing and normal street driving? what were your times? 60ft and 1/4? thanks a ton Chris |
Re: 3.73's and a vig3200??? I think Trevor D has this combination and he is traction limited, even with ET Streets, LOL! That's a pretty hard launching combo. |

Re: 3.73's and a vig3200??? you staying with Nitrous chris? if not just get the 4.10s and some ET drags |
Re: 3.73's and a vig3200??? I have that combo along with Black Sunshine. It hits hard from a flash point and you better have some tires to take full advantage of this set up. I ran 10.5X15 ET Streets at 15psi hot along with RR airbag 18psi,Mac LCA and BMR LCA brackets to help aid the shock. I found that leaving the tree at 1100rpms got me my best 60fts. |
Re: 3.73's and a vig3200??? thanks for the advice!! tires that i have now(M&H Racemaster) will hopefully work a little bit since they are new and came with the pro stars i bought. otherwise i might get another set of e.t. streets to run. with the 3.73's and the nitrous i'd be running a 28" tall tire matt- i sold my tnt wet kit cause i've run into a little financial problem(got layed off), soi'm just looking for little stuff since us WI guys have a dealer tech that does perfect gear installs for VERY cheap as a side thing. anyways, i thought about the 4.10's, but i'll probably get a TNT dry kit and hide it for the street racing. |
Re: 3.73's and a vig3200??? Like Patrick said, I'm running the combo, and I love it. Like he said, be prepared to need some slicks to get it to hook up. It hits HARD off of the line! My best ET is in my sig, and it was spinning pretty bad. My 60' times should be somewhere around 1.60. I should find out on Feb. 2nd. I have a set of Hoosiers on the way, and that should cure the no traction issue. Even though I haven't been able to completely hook the car up since the 3.73's went in, it feels GREAT down the track. The shifts occur much quicker, as expected, and I'm crossing the line right at 5,600-5,700 RPM on 26x11.5x16" ET Streets. The RPM's drop to right at 5,000 RPM on the shifts. I did Ed Wright's custom tuning at the same time that I swapped gears, and I've gained right around 2 MPH in the 1/4 with these two mods. Having my shift points at 6,200 and deleting torque mgt. helped out just a hair, too. I hope to see an 11-second timeslip w/ the new Convo Pro/Hoosier setup. It will also shed some nice weight off of the car. I've been run my 17's on the front, and the ET Streets are mounted on stock Z28 rims WITH tubes! [ January 23, 2002: Message edited by: Trevor D ]
|
