Default Yeehaw-- I finally broke my tranny!!!

Well I finally broke my Rock On tranny. I had some kind of hard part failure as I lost all forward gears but still have reverse. Last night I put 800rwtq thru it on 28" slicks I can't believe Dave's 3/4 clutch pack has held up to this kinda power like it has. We had to laugh cause Dave challenged me to make enuff power to break his build and instead I broke a hard part. I still say, if you want a damn good 4l60e give Dave a call. Do not buy the hype that they cant be built to handle your 600hp daily driver. All it takes is a knowledgeable builder like Rock On Now i get to send my converter back to Precision and get it restalled. They said I was blowing thru their converter so we are gonna tighten it up some and I am sure my ETs will finally drop some. Dave is gonna test some new ideas on my next 4l60e and see if we can push things even further and I'll definitely keep you guys updated

Remember, it was a hard part failure so the clutch packs/band were still kickin ***! He is building me a new one this week. I may get this one totally refreshed and checked out by Rock On and sell it

you could PM Dave...his user name is "Rock-On"

Yup, stock rear...I'm still only in the 1.5s as far as 60's. My next tranny will be another Rock On. Dave is going to probably try some new ideas on it and see how they work out. I think I broke a sprag or planetaries in this one as there was a loud POP when it broke and the fluid is still clean. I am not a tranny guy so I will let Dave determine what broke. This tranny has been in here since last year with 25000 street miles and over 50 passes. the lowest hp that is was holding was when it was new and that was 650rwhp 700 rwtq I know hard parts break...Parish broke the indestructible 4l80e with 1000rwtq...broke the input shaft I think. The clutches is what everyone said would not hold up for me in a 4l60e. I think that has been proven to be wrong. Hopefully a t-400 will become a track only tranny and people will realize you can still make 600rwhp....drive every day and still keep O/D with the 4l60e if you have it built right.
