So I've got three torque converter bolts that are 1/2" too short, threads don't even match, and the shims that came with them are as thick as the bolts are long! I do need shims because the converter isn't flush to the flexplate. I can get bolts at Advance so that's not the problem. Can I use washers to shim the flexplate? My dad seems to think washers are gonna screw up my flexplate.
