Question Stock 02 Ls1 4l60e Tranny Stall Rate

I have a 2002 ls1 trans am with the stock 4L60E tranny, I want to put a 2200 - 2500 stall convertor in it. Does anybody know if the stock 4L60E can handle it? what is the stock convertor stalls at?

Oh yea by the way the tranny is stock but the car is not. I put on pair of LS6 heads, long tube headers, and 224/224 @ 114 LSA 581 lift CompCam. little over 400 WHP.

Don't waste your money on a 2200 stall. That's not much bigger than stock. If you want to be as close to stock, but gain a benefit, go to 2800-3200.

can the stock 4L60E hold up to a stall convertor or not? How long can it last with a say 2500 stall convertor with stock internals?

your gonna be so sad with that stall, though. don't spend 1000 for a good stall and tune only to be slightly better than stock, buy a 3600 or 3800, I've got a 4000 in a DD and its great.
