Default Energy Suspension Tranny Mount

I bought an energy suspension tranny mount the other day, so i go down to the guy who is going to be putting it on for me and he says it is not going to work. I know many people have these mounts on their cars. I have heard some people say they pop right in, while others say you have to modify them a little bit to make them work. I need to know how you modify them in case the mount doesnt fit in my car. Ive heard you grind down the bumps on it. Is that all you have to do. Any input is greatly appreciated. By the way the car is a 94.

I can't remember if mine is an Energy or a Prothane but, I had to grind off the humps and I didn't use that big thick plate. It's taken some serious abuse over the years and it's still fine.

If you leave the bumps on what does it do?
