won't shift into 3rd gear at wot or

or heavy part throttle unless I let off the gas completely. The 4l60 has a shift kit and and a 3200 stall. I have removed all tq and adjusted part throttle shifts. Everything else seems to working fine. Any Ideas? Thanks

Mine does the samething I had a servo installed and it helped. It will still bang the rev limiter and then shift threw to third.

Thanks for the tip. I have recently bumped up line pressures quite a bit via efilive and that helped with the heavy part throttle. It will now shift up to about 75% throttle. I think it must need more line pressure. Anyone ever modify their force current motor settings. What is a good temperature for the trans fluid?

Does the shift kit have a boost valve? Good transmission temps are below 190*F, IMO.

It was a trans go shift kit, with a boost valve.

If you installed the Trans-Go Shift kit "as is", then you will need to change the feed hole size for the 2-3 shift. I would change the feed size to .155" - .187". I do this to all of the "modified" Performance Shifts that I sell and install. Call me & I will give you the feed hole sizes you need to do this right. Just have your Shift kit instructions when you call. If the transmission is in decent shape, these modifications should solve this. Call 909 7951876 anytime past 12 noon PST.

do you know how to fix this on a stock trans? no shift kit or anything.

gator's 99TA Nov 2, 2005 12:10 AM

mine did this right before the 3-4 clutch packs went.

electricz28 Nov 2, 2005 12:16 AM

mine did that to when i was using a HPP3 when it asks you if you have installed a shift kit and you have answer no. I kept answering yes and was experiencing the same problems you speak of.

I was or am having a problem with my trans locking in 3rd. Contacted PCI-vig and they feel the cpu is picking up misfires from new cam. Havent had time to check yet but will be getting with my tuner soon.

Give pro built automatic a call. He knows his stuff about these things.

Even on a stock unit you would still need to address (enlarge) the 3rd gear feed hole on the seperator plate.
