If locking a convertor is so easy, why doesn't everyone do it?

I am confused. From what I now know, its simple to manually lock a convertor. If thats the case, why doesn't everyone who has the bigger Vigilantes (3600, 3800) just lock them around 95 MPH? You would have the best of both worlds, a hard hitting convertor and it would be efficient up top....

You don't always pick up locking the converter, but on my ST3800 its worth ~1mph and 0 et (10rwhp on the dyno). I have my TCOM tranny computer lock it up for me. Guys with LS1 edit should also be able to make this automatic. It's not good for the converter, and doesn't help ET much, which is why a lot of people don't bother.

I would like to know how to lock my super thruster up for the sole purpose of dynoing. i hear this yanks are pretty efficient up top so i dont think i would really need to lock it up at the track. Kenny, does anyone sell a lock up switch kit in which you just hook up the kit and mount the switch somewhere?
