Those with TH400's, how do mount your shifter? I have a Hurst Quarter Stick shifter, and the way it was installed is that is screwed into a piece of wood, which is is attached to the car by two long bolts. One of the screws in the piece of wood came off, so I am thinking if theres a better way to install the shifter. The main thing is that it needs to be raised up a couple inches, thats what the wood was used for. How did you guys install yours? Pictures would realy help. thanks Jimmy |
i had speedinc install mine! however, they used a special spacer i believe. oh yea... i have a b&m pro-ratchet. but the shifter still had to be spaced up at the rear. |
I used a 1/4" thick plate of Aluminum cutout slightly larger than the new shifters base, and at min. the same size as old shifter. Spotted the facotry mounting pads, drilled and countersank the holes for the plate to mount to the trans tunnel. Spotted the shifter, marked the holes, drilled and used a round flat tip screw from the bottom (no interference with the plate and body) with lock washer and nut on top. Pics can be emailed later if you need. cat3n4@gmail.com Subject: shifter pics. Charlie |
