Default Converter for H/C non-daily driver??

Head cam car with a 237/242 595/595, 3.42 stock 10 bolt, this will be a toy so drivability isn't an issue....

Yea I know but I have seen cars run low 1.5x with 4400 stalls on 10 bolts for several years in a row without problems....

yeah, know someone who was cam only with a 3800 stall. they ran et streets on the street, and sprayed a 150 shot out of the hole, the car went about 4 feet before the axel twisted and broke into 5 peices.

I'm not going to sit here and argue the reliability of the stock 10 bolt, we all know that at my power level they could go any moment or they may outlast me and you, its coin toss. I'm just looking for info pertaining to the topic i.e stall speed, brand name, personal experience, track times etc etc etc....

Since its not a daily driver, I would say you can go a little higher than that. Possibly a 4500 or so.

What's the dyno look like? I've read a few times, you want the converter to flash a couple hundred rpms below peak torque. That's why I went with a 4400.

My 10 bolt holds up to 1.53 to 1.50 60's. The key for 10 bolts is to get a big rear sway bar to prevent wheel hop and a line lock to prevent the death of the posi in the burn out. A4s rule!

Steve, get a YANK PT4000 with that 3.42 gear and a good set of slicks.

I would give Fuddle racing a call, they will talk to you about the car, your plans, your tolerance, etc and help you pick the right stall. And they are a great price too.
