Default rpm shifts.... mind boggled (WITH VIDEO)

first off mabe this is the same on everyone but seems wierd to me.

i did a 0-100 run and my car shifted form 1st to 2nd at like 4950 rpm right before 5k. why is that? i was at 36 mph when it shifted.

I don't understand fully either.
Stock tune is set to shift 100%TPS and 36 MPH.
Using HPTuners there is also a seperate table that shows WOT vs RPM shifts and it's set to 6000 RPM. So my question is what makes it shift at 49xx-50xx rpm (off the shift table settings) vs 6000 rpm? (off the wot vs rpm table settings).

If you do the math the 1-2 shift happening at 49xx rpm...thats going off the shift speed vs tps.

Thats rear gear x trans gear ratio x 355 x mph / tire diameter = rpm.

If it was at 100% TPS you need to get into the VCM and tune it. It doesn't matter if the tires were spinning or not. It should shift off the WOT shift rpm table in the tune and not the WOT shift speed table.

im guessing the diablo tuner or the hptuner things will fix this problem? i just got the car used so i dont have any tuning done to it or litle handheld programs to tune it.

You should not take the TPS% for granted. I've seen one
car recently that, stock unmolested (pretty rare for a '00)
only hits 85% (!) with the throttle cam up against the bump
stop. So he never gets into the WOT shift scheme at all,
just the part throttle MPH tables.

I had someone sit in my car yesterday. And the Cam is quite a ways off the bump stop. 3/8" to be exact

Default update

well it must have beena hickup. because today i would put the shifter in 1st gear and went about 3/4 full on the petal to see what it would do. it went all the way to 6k then bounced off the limiter. well i then put it back in D and punched it and it shifted at 6k.. but i forgot to look at the speed. eithway heh figured id let yall know incase someone elses notices this.
