4L60E trans brake

Default 4L60E trans brake

I'm running 12.0-12.1's trap 114-117MPH with my V6 however i'm having troubles getting out of the hole.... i have a VIG 3800 stall with 2.5 TM...... but the foot brake on it is only ~3000 RPM.

So my only other option is a trans brake, the TH-400 and those DO NOT fit the V6's

now from what i can find ROSSLER is the only one making a brake for these trannys, and its not even out yet....... but i see people saying the case will not handle it...... how do you know if there is no brake for it was one adapted and tried.

I don't think it is the case that will break, rather the internal components do not like being shocked or high RPM changes. The internals must be very beefy to withstand the stress a transbrake puts on the parts once released. A transbrake is pretty much a neutral drop, but with a stall rpm limit from your converter.

Have you tried to full flashing it from idle or right above idle instead of footbreaking it that high?

not at the track......... it seems really really slow doing it on the street... i'll have to give it try.....

lol i jsut got off the phone with him....... he was telling me hes wait to hear back from you

hes got 3 in shop going out ready to ship right now..... i may drive my car up to him this summer and have it installed..... or find a beater car and ship the tranny to him for install

I have a Rossler 4L60E Trans Brake, its a twin turbo charged camaro with 1650 hp at the rear wheels i've had his tranny and tranny brake for a while now and have never broke it or had it act funny on me i know a few other people running his 4l60e trans brake and they love it and all have over 1500 hp at the rear wheels. he's the only one in the world that can make this brake cuase he has the patent on it.

thats a lot of power for a 4l60.
other guy chimed in saying he is the 1st with the brake, and it seems this is a pretty new item, but youve had it for a while, and its your 1st post??

last i talked to rossler there was 7 brakes out there and that was months ago..... my tranny would have been the very first but rossler can not test the v6 trannies. plus it wasn't ready yet, and i needed my tranny. i know for his first shipment he had 5 and they was all spoken for

I did in fact have the first one carl installed on the 4L60E.
I had the prototype and the first production unit. At this point there are alot more than 7 of them installed. I know that Rodney at RPM has also installed a few of Carls brakes. Rossler does in fact have the patent on these. Last year soon after I had mine Carl told me he was installing one on an 1100 hp turbo car, maybe this is the car? I am as big a rossler as there is on this site but I must say my eyebrows really raised at that post, especially it being his first post

I have in fact installed a few of Carls transbrakes in 4L60E's. (8 in 4l60e's and 3 4l80's). I have only had one failure with a transbrake and it was a C5 427 with a direct port system and the customer swears that the transbrake had nothing to do with the failure. The output shaft broke and when it did the shaft splintered and when the two jagged edges rotated it caused the length of the shaft to grow and literally broke everything (case included). The Nitrous system was on a progressive controller and after the 60ft it spun and he got out and back in the throttle and the nitrous hit HARD and thats when it broke. This C5 has many 9 sec passes on it before the failure. Carl is out of stock on the transbrakes right at the moment as I just recieved the last 7 he had and they are all spoken for. We make a TH400 that fits the v-6 FWD and f-body 3800 engines and have them in stock

Hey Take it from me i have a 98 twin turbo camaro pumping out 1650HP i have had my Rossler 4L60e trans brake for almost a year and love it he built the tranny as well. don't listen to those crack pots you'll only break a case if your pinion angle is set wrong or if u got a wacked out u joint. Carl's got guys running his TH210 with 3500hp so he defently knows what he is doing. check them out www.rosslertrans.com
