ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et With a catback, maf,LCA'S,lid, and nittos I ran 13.2's. I just had my ST3500,transgo, and cooler installed and I ran a 13.2. How could this be, i figuered somthing must be wrong. My 60 foot improved from 2.0 to 1.9, but the mph droped from 105 to 103. The temp outside was like 84 degrees, think that could have made that much of a difference. thanks in advance, Kyle [ April 18, 2002, 11:41 AM: Message edited by: 1BDLS1 ] |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et your 60ft improved but not that much IMO. You said be4 the Thruster you were 2.0, now with that converter your 1.9? You need Tires Tires Tires!! You can see what that Converter can sixty by looking at my sig. The MPH? prolly the weather. Did you compare the weather on both days,(when you had the converter, and when you raced without the converter) Conveters not gonna give you a huge increase in MPH. (thats what you get heads/cam for) In order for any Converter (aftermarket) one to work efficiently, you need to have your 60ft. times reduced drastically. Thats where us auto guys shine. Bring that 60 ft down to a 1.7 (could prolly do it on nitto dr's with a so so prepped track) and then tell us the results Put some E.T. drags/ or E.T. streets and your easily into the 1.6's with the touch of the gas pedal. |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et umm... it's gotta hook to go faster... sounds like you need tires. BAD. |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et I did hook pretty well on the nittos. Maybe u guys are right. Combination of the weather and traction Thanks alot guys [ April 18, 2002, 12:10 PM: Message edited by: 1BDLS1 ] |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et I cut low 1.60s with a ST3500 and my race weight is 3800 lbs. Check to make sure you are dead hooking. BTW, unless the weather was a lot warmer after the install, your mph should have increased, not decreased. How many miles did you put on your car before you hit the track. Reason: When you disconnect the battery, it takes about 200 miles before all your power is back (for those of you running aftermarket MAFs). |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et With a few bolt-ons and full weight, your 60' should have at least been down in the low 1.7s. You need to properly heat those nittos. do your burnout until you see smoke in the rear view mirror. |
Re: ST3500 didn't cut anytime off my et What some call hooking up ok, and what we call dead hooking are 2 totally different things. I can hook ok and get a 1.8 60's but when I am dead hooking with all my TQ behind me I pull 1.5 60's. It feels SOOO different. Try stalling it up a bit or simply stabbing the pedal harder off the line. I am amazed at how many people "roll" into the pedal with a converter car. If you have the tires you should be jamming your foot to the floor like like Bin Ladin was sitting under your pedal! |
