Question Summer + AC = Crazy Underhood Temps... Normal ?

Just wondering if it's considered *normal* for an A4 Cammed/Stalled Car to heat up to 220*+, in stop and go traffic with AC (NOT Max AC) on [ fan set at 2 ] .. with outside temperature around 80-82* and Humidity ~ 65%

When crusing above 45 mph, car temps hover around 200*. And, if completely stopped for more than 10 mins, the temp gauge starts rising to scary levels .. i/e past the HALF mark..

FYI:

1 - The coolant was flushed last year [using Dexcool ]
2 - Coolant levels are okay
3 - I have a 160* T-Stat and fan settings have been programmed into the PCM ; The fans do kick in as set up.

I'd like to hear from both Cammed/stalled ; Only Cam ; Only Stall ; Some Mods ; Stock guys.. So basically everyone chime is plz..

Also, please list:

1 - Your location
2 - Type of driving [stop n go ; highway ; traffic conditions if extreme .. ]
3 - AC ON or usually OFF

I had this happen during summer in Georgia, hot
over-pavement air plus single-row radiator + A/C
heat dump = mmm, toasty. Wimpy little fans are no
help too. When the pavement is 150F and the air is
still, having a bottom-breather "cooling" air scheme
is not your best bet.

This was all stock motor & radiator. Been meaning to
get around to installing the LT1 rad for, oh, 6+ months
now....

I usually have the top down and the A/C off but had
to close it up and run the air; Georgia in July, nasty.

i've noticed mine are running a little higher also. I have manual fans, 160 stat, and still pretty much 195/195 engine/tranny temp when it's hot outside.
