Why doesn't anyone.... restall the stock converter? I read on here all the time that people are having lockup issues on their 9.5'' converter. The clutch goes, I guess because it's so small? Why not just restall the stocker? |
Because its big, heavy, and a drag on performance. |
Yeah what he said |
A lot of the Lockup issues are from not having the PCM tuned on when to lock it and unlock it. You can burn a TCC up in a matter of a couple miles if its not right. |

The stock converter will not be able to stall past 2500 and be efficient for street use, that is why. As CAT3 mentioned, the stock lock up table are intended for a tight converter. On a loose converter (some of) you will experience lock up issues. So it is best to readjust both the shift tables and the lock up tables, as well as the line pressures. |
