Who's running the Yank SS3600....

on their Daily Driver.. H/C cars...?

How do you like it??

I have had the Yank SY3500 and loved it!! Time for a change though..

Thanks.

I am running the Yank SS4000 and could not be happier. The shift extension is great and drive better than my Midwest 3600. I would say the SS3600 will be a bit tighter than the SY3500. You might want to consider the SS4000 for a little more performance.

With a 2.5 STR, the SS3600 will hit a lot harder than the SY3500, which has the lowest STR of any converter in that stall range at 1.6.

They don't make the SY3500 anymore, right?

im running the ss3600 in my 3rd gen ls1 conversion and couldnt be happier, seems like the low 1st gear in the 4l60 makes this converter perfect for the street, but I'm not gona lie I almost ish I had gone for the 4000 but this is my first ever stall so I stayed low with it.

After it officially went out of production, they continued to make a very limited supply. It's not advertised, so you'd need to call Yank and check.

Yeah, i have spoke with Mike @ Yank.. They no longer make the SY series because they can no longer get the stator from GM... He can however rebuild them...

Guess my question is now.. how streetable is the SS4000?
I am looking @ purchasing one this week... They are the same price for now.

Thanks for the comments.

North of Dallas.. Sherman area...

I am now leaning toward the SS4000... :bang:

I do have the 323's.... will that make a difference? I notice that you have the 373's..

AK's WS6 Sep 4, 2006 06:50 PM

My wife has the SS3600 in her WS6 and it's a daily driver... Still gets anywhere from 17-19 mpg with mostly city driving! I've had this converter in the car for over 50k miles...

The SS4000 already has a high STR (2.60) and still will work great with 3.23's. It will be a blast to drive, I promise. I have had my TC for quite sometime and it still puts a smile on my face:devil:
