Th350 can a built Th350 hold up to a 1000 rwhp ? if built good |
i tired doing searches but couldnt come up with anything anyone |
I have never had anything even remotely close to the power levels you are talking about, but most of the high HP cars that I have been around used a Powerglide or TH-400. I don`t think I have ever even heard of a TH-350 in a 1000 HP car. That does not mean that it has't or can't be done however. |
Ive seen them rated to 700hp....if that helps. |
my th350 is rated to 950fwhp, however i would not try pushing it to that level. keep in mind traction, gearing, & weight will all play a part in how much you can punish any trans, not to mention hp & tq, and keeping it cool of course. as stated, properly built p/g's or th400's are more commonly used & up to the task. |
Can I ask why? It's going to be pushing the limit if you can modify the hell out of one. It's like the stock 4L60E, most are pushing the limits and eventually failing. If you can get one build to handle 1000 hp it's going to be failure prone. Whats wrong with using a th400? |
If you have enough money to build a 1000 RWHP motor then you have enough money to buy one of Kilgores superlite TH400s. They start at $4500 but he reroutes the power path in the tranny and the internals he uses cut about 30 lbs off the weight of the trans. |
i was worried about weight with my car does Kilgores have ia website that i can check out |
1000 is pushing it..it can be done with the right parts but 850 is about the range i was told a th350 should be in.. 1000 is alot of power.. |
