How do A4 cars dyno without downshifting, etc
Just like the title asks. What is going to happen if I go dyno my car and don't have a laptop to program my car to stay in 3rd and not downshift? I also have a 3000 stall too.

You don't start your dyno run until your car is running a stready RPM in third gear just above the downshift rpm for your car. That way when you start the dyno run you don't have to worry about the transmission downshifting.

They will run your car from like 70-130 or what ever it is so the trans wont down shift. When they 1st straped mine down they hit it at 65 and it downshifted so they hit it at 70 and it stayed in 3rd.

We use EFI Live and lock the tranny in third gear and lock the converter during the pull.
If you don't do that you need to make the pull at a high enough MPH that it won't down shift at.
