$2600 to rebuilt my a4 transmission
Guys my 02 trans am has 65,000 miles and my 3rd and 4th gears are basically gone or so the dealer the car aint shifting @ all. All its doing is reving up to 7000 rpm, But damn there charging me $2600 is this about right or should I just get a tranny from like Finish Line Performance?

go get a built one. you can get one for around 3000k and itll be a bad *** trans. look at the sponsors and check um out there. it also depends on what you will be doing with the car. if you beat on it and wanna mod it more than go with a built one. screw the stock trans it sucks

For $2600 you could get a better than stock rebuild. I would look at getting a highly built tranny. I am going to go through mine with the help of a friend that does it for a living. I have all Alto Red Eagle clutches including the Z pack that increases the number of 3/4 clutches, beast sunshell, .490 boost valve, 13 vane pump kit, and more. I hope that when I am done that it will last a whole season of 10 sec passes.

performabuilt has a stage 2 (able to handle 700hp), and a 3500 stall verter for a good price. it was on their site for a little over $2K i think (dont remember the exact price and i cant check cause im at work). im getting that setup and paid a good price (ls1tech discount and military discount)

A stock rebuild is just that, extremely expensive and possibly short-lived insurance until it goes out again.
I would do it right the first time, and let it handle what you throw at it later.

You are getting raped.
I pulled mine out, got it fully built for $1,200 & im in California.
Also it has 12 month warranty and its rated at 600hp
Shop around, ive seen TH400 go for less then what your paying bro.
