Default Check out this tranny pan

Anyone ever used anything like this? Think it actually would benifit you. Tubes that run through the pan on each side so air can go through.

It'll only help when the car is actually moving at reasonable speeds to allow air to take the heat out. The only time I've seen the tranny temps high is when the car is stopped or slowly moving.

It would work fine as long as it don't leak.
I would imagine if it took a hit it would leak much easier.
Therefore I would not use it on a lowered car or any application where ground clearance is very tight.

Derale has been making this style for decades.

The undercar air, sitting still, is not going to give
you worthwhile cooling. Road draft at speed, OK.
Still not as much airflow area as a tranny cooler of
any size, so don't go thinking this is a replacement
for that.

The tubes add excess depth, a finned aluminum
would do as well or better, but I found one of those
too low for my liking after springs. Though it was
the super-deep one.

Truck pan and maximum size cooler, more effective
all around.

I had a dearle on my previous car. I like the TCI pan best but it is expensive. The cooling tubes do help some in town and at the track compared to a plain pan. It also adds a quart or two in capacity. I like it better than the truck pan.
