Stall

How does an aftermarket stall differ from a stock one? How different will it accerelate/drive on the street? I'm a newb and don't fully understand how much different it will be.

wow i don't even know where to begin for ya but your current stock car has a stall converter in it now at probably around 1000 to 1200 rpm. after that it is difficult to hold the car with the brake. a higher stall of say 3000 you could hold until about 2500 rpm.

if you gonna stall it...Call the guys over at Yank Performance.....they have awesome customer service and can tell you just about anything you want to know

A good converter will scare the shit out uf you the first few times you drive it. You won't get any traction in first gear unless your using a sticky tire. It will accelerate a lot harder if you can make the car hook. It's good times. Yank is a great place to start. Good luck!

Another vote for Yank....the difference is the smile on your face every time you go WOT. Before, yeah it was cool and kind of quick. After, oh hell yeah....let's do it again. Man she pulls hard! I'll be switching to a SS3600 or SS4000 very soon.

This question come's up a lot.
Any chance of one of you experienced converter veteran's putting together something like the nitrous faq's list that's floating around and making it a sticky?

That vid is interesting. At light throttle the car starts to roll at just under 2000RPM. I am considering a Yank 3000 stall, so I assume it will start rolling at about 1500 rpm. Thanks JA
