those in the 10's (and high 9's) on a 4L60E, come in please ok, i know there's not many of you out there. but for the few that is, i need your help. im right on the verge of doing a th350 swap but i'd like to build the hell out of my a4 just one time to see how long it'll hold. its a forged 347 that makes about 410-420 rwhp and will see 150-200 shot, but not off the line because im on stock 10 bolt. i've read several posts of you guys saying that if its built with the right parts, it'll hold many 10 sec passes. i want it to hold, so make me a parts list please. thanks, brent |
read the parts list on our level 3 its pretty detailed in the write up on our homepage |

well the 3 has 5 pinion planets OEM GM New hardened input shaft and drum new not remaned transgo hd2 kit Blue plate 3-4 set Are the primary changes between the two If you price some of those items you will see whe the price would increase rather dramatically |
A well built 4l60e will hold that power all day long. |
I run mid 10's (10.47 best) and have about 50 passes on my tranny and many miles. Transmission Physcians did mine out of Tampa Fl. Great guys and offer a 1 year warranty. Yea even if raced, sprayed etc... If you need more info let me know, I went thru 5 trans with people who claimed to know what they were doing before them. |

from my understanding a th350 isnt much stronger than 4l60...youll need a th400 |

Performabuilt, so would you recommend your level 3 over the level 2 for cars running in the 10's? Or what about cars approaching 600hp? My tranny is the only thing (and cage) holding me back from spraying the car. I'll be getting one of your transmissions this spring, I was considering a TH400, but seems like your tranny can do the trick. I'm more concerned about reliability and performance over ride quality. And actually I prefer a solid shift that will rattle your teeth a little :) |
Either trans will provide very snappy shifts however if its just a 600 rwhp engine the level 2 should be fine but if you intend on spraying on top of that then I would go level three. And of course if funding wasnt a major issue I would go level 3 anyway you really can have to much transmission lol. On the matter of the th350 they are not that different of a trans particularly in the rear section and planetaries you would be amazed at the similarities , once you get past the input drum |

I'm leaning towards the level 3, I like to do it right the 1st time. Like you said though my car should make #'s in the 550-600 vacinity (on spray) and if the level 2 is adequate that is a lot of savings. Is the drivability different between the 2 and 3? |
The level three is a bit more agressive shift wise and not near as comfortable , And of note that may be interesting in your case the level three is the only one that allows you to hold first gear as long as you like |

Actually I agree on setting the shift points to ideal setting during the tune but some people ask about it so I just wanted to let you know that with any but the level three the ECM depending on how its programed can override and make the upshift from 1-2 even when the trans is in manual low and will not allow shifts to first gear manually at any speed , The other gears cannot be overided by the ecm |
oh, i see |
For some people thats important , since im not sure if the ecm has the abilty to be forced to command shift at for instance 7000 plus rpm etc |
My car makes nearly identical power numbers on a DynoJet, slightly lower on a Mustang Dyno. I'm also running a 150 shot, and like you, never spraying out of the hole either on street tires or stickies. No problems whatsoever, over a year now with 8000 street miles and numerous track passes with and without the nitrous. See sig for builder, or PM me. The LS1Tech mod nazis will throw a fit and delete my post otherwise... |
How long is the perfomabuilt warranty? |
