Average 60fts with Yank SS3600?
I'm having a hard time debating between the Yank SS3600 and Yank SS4000.
I searched and read through 3 pages of threads.
I have a bolt on car, now with a 12 bolt and 4.11s. It will one day have a head/cam package.
I'd like to be able to hit low/mid 1.6s on average. Will a Yank SS3600 get me there? I don't car about gas mileage, I have a DD, but do drive a lot bc it's fun.
I don't want the thing to be too sloppy though.
The car runs good, ran a best of 12.30 @ 113 with a 1.85 60ft with mac headers, ls6 intake, and the 10 bolt with 4.10s(full weight too).
Thank You!!!!

I had a vigilante 3600 in my nova last summer with a 228 cam. Broke the planetary's in the spring, so during the rebuild, I sent it to PI to have it checked and freshened up and restalled to a 4000. Not much different than it was last year with the 3600. I drive it everywhere (almost every day), now with the T-Rex cam. But, if you're not going to run a big cam, why make everything work harder when it doesn't have to? Make parts fit parts. OH yeah, My 60 ft. with the 3600 (but also stock heads and smaller cam) was 1.67...My 60 ft. this year with 4000 stall, T-rex, and heads is 1.60.

Those are great times w/ your mods! Stock stall?
I've only been to the track once with my SS3600, with a best of 1.64 on 315/35/17 BFG's flashing from 2K. I feel like it'll do a little better flashing from idle or just off idle. Also, I now have 315/35/17 M/T DR's mounted Next track date within the next couple of week.
Most of my mods are in sig. The car dynoed 404rhp/368rtq, unlocked.
I hope that helps.
BTW .. I've had the SS3200 and had it restalled to 3600. The driveability of these converters is great! I would have had no prob. going to a SS4K but N20 is in my near future.

You will be wanting tires that stick way better than street rubber
if you're looking for that kind of 60'. If they can hold it then the
SS3600, from what I've seen people report, will do the job. But if
you're spinning now you'll just spin with greater ease.

With ET Streets and the mods below the best I got was 1.82 60ft. Flashing from 2200 RPM. Next time out I dont think I am going to flash it, Just go from Idle. See how that goes...
