Will a 3.8 4L60E retrofit to a LS1 or LT1?
. But just bolt out an bolt in, no it wont work.

Input shaft and bell-housings are different...as well as the strength of the internals. So while you could make it work with some swapping parts in and out...you'd be better off fiscally to start with the V8 tranny.
