Well you could just put an LS1 bellhousing on it . But just bolt out an bolt in, no it wont work.

Input shaft and bell-housings are different...as well as the strength of the internals. So while you could make it work with some swapping parts in and out...you'd be better off fiscally to start with the V8 tranny.
