Default 4L60E shift problems

Hey guys, drove my car to school this morning and my car will not do the 1-2 shift without letting off of the gas. It also won't shift into 4th gear or whichever gear it is supposed to be in around 45-55. Other than that the trans runs OK. I haven't had time to check the fluid yet but I was just seeing if anyone had any quick ideas.

Trans is "performance" rebuilt with around 40k miles, I rarely ever drive it hard so I can't see this being glazed bands/clutches or anything

First do you have any codes or check engine light? The next if if the only issue is with 2nd and 4th i would suspect a 2-4 band issue

I forgot to mention that I have the infamous "P1870" code. It's been tripping since I bought the car over a year ago.

The 1870 code will cause very high line at all times if this has been ocuring for this long its very possible you have damaged the 2-4 band from the constant excessive line pressure

Can I get that band replaced without having to rebuild the entire transmission?

Depends on the condition and many shops are unwilling to just replace a single part

I got around to checking the fluid, it is good and pink. Does this make any difference?

not really all that tells you is its likely not burning friction material but it col still be broken , Band eye pin torn through partially maybe , You or someone will have to go into it to figure it out
