Question Most hp with out blowing up stock 4l60?

ive got a 02 z with 100,000+ miles on it. i bought it from a pontiac gmc dealership in cbus oh and it was completely bone stock. i debated wether or not to get it but it was the cleanest unmoded one ive seen and the price was right.

Now i got a couple of mods to it now and when i got it tune the guy said that it prob is making bout 350 to the crank. now when i bought the car i go the bright idea to buy the extended warranty. i got the powertrain covered to 200,000miles or 5 year. i bought it this past dec. i know i got to be carefull not to void the warranty just yet.

How much power is the limit before these 4l60 take a dump?

Well stock they are generally rated at about 375 hp I think I copied that from GM tech stuff once, But that also is affected by vehicle weight and gears etc, But a good guide though some have gone much higher

There really is no telling exactly when they will break. If I could figure that out I would be playing the lotto!!

Does lower gears (3.73 vs 3.23) put more stress on a AT or less?

Lower numbered gears like 273 are harder on it much like when you ride a ten speed and take off in high and low gear which is easier on your legs the low gear "410" or the higher gear "273"
