My '02 WS-6 has 59,000 miles on it (fully stock, never raced) and has been well taken care of. Yesterday when driving home I started to hear popping sounds between shifts and this morning the whole tranny started to fail at 2nd, 4th and even reverse. I took it to a local Pontiac dealership and they said there was nothing they could do, my warranty ended at 30,000 miles. I have since started to seach the internet for similar account from others and have come across several service bulletins explaining similar problems, but will these do any good if I take them to a dealer? I am bummed and was not expecting a transmission to die so early. Thanks for any info.

good luck....my car was stock until 34000 miles and then I put heads/cam/full exhaust on it and the tranny lasted 50 miles!!!!

-new one from performabuilt should be here soon!!!

Unfortunately if the warranty was only 30000 miles then thats it they wont help you. I would say trying to get them to would be close to chasing your tail unfortunately

i have a 4l60E im considering doing a swap for a TH400. It has a fuddle/howard converter in it that stall is 4000. Its had a trans cooler on its whole life. How much do you want to give me for it.

Call the dealership back up and cancel that order and get a performabuilt or a FLT tranny and never worry about it breaking again. Will probably be cheaper this way too than through the stealership.
