Pat's Performance 10"... anyone try it?

Long ago I turned the Buick guy onto a 10" lock-up I was running in my 200 setup that gave good street manners and track results. At the time the Vig and others were in the $700-$1000 range and not really doing any better than the $500 Pat's. I see Pat's offers one for these cars in 10" for$500 (similar Yank is $725) and wondered if anyone has one or used it in one of our cars? The other thing I liked about using Pat's was they were close enough to :punch: if had an issue where I didn't have to pay to ship it back and forth. Any experiences here?

Anyone?

Still thinking about this one since sometimes it is nice to be local should it be needed.

Anything in the $500 range worth a damn?

Do people lock our converters at WOT?

Exactly how bad are failures in the 500 HP range with the converters out there?

If it cuts loose, it's going to send metal through the transmission. I'm not familiar with Pat's Performance. They make a decent converter, but there's only a hand full of builders that have it down "pat". No pun intended.

I would not short cut in the TC department.

Any suggestions then?

Circle D Billet street would be my choice, then Yank or Vig and in that order. If you plan on locking it up at WOT, I'd step up to their muti-disc unit. Give Chris a call at 713-895-8834. He can give you all the info you'll need as well as pricing. I think he offers free shipping and a free restall where as most TC builders don't.

Trying to see if the Circle-D has balloon plates on Stage 1 4C. I think Yank does... only reason to go that way

yanks service is top notch but i can tell it did suck shipping the tc there and back as it took a week each way. Thats where local service would be nice. But like said above a tc isn't something you want to skimp out on.

We use a billet front on the engine side - which is the ultimate balloon plate and a flanged hub on the trans side.
