Default stock vs meziere flexplate weights

i just purchased a meziere flexplate. i have heard a few people asking before about the weights of these flexplats. meziere claims their units are right around 6.95 pounds. i measure on a standard scale (nothing too fancy or too accurate) and it showed that it was between 6.75 and 7 lbs. my stock flexplate weighed in right at 1 lb less. it was showing between 5.75 and 6 lbs. i have heard a few people say that the TCI flexplate is several pounds heavier due to its thickness. i can't comment on that since i don't have one. i have done some reading and from what i gather the heavier flexplates tend to be more designed for heavier cars and the lighter flexplates are more designed for lighter cars. meziere did not consider their flexplate light, but around the standard weight. they said it was designed to be used on approximately a stock weight ls1 car. anyways, i was just providing a little info for people wanting to know the weight of these items.
