won't kick down after gear swap
 

At 60 mph my car used to kick down to second gear when i put the petal to the floor...that was with the factory 273s.Now that i have 3.42s it won't kick down to second gear anymore while doing 60 mph.

When i get on it from a dead stop it shifts in to third gear at 80 mph.so i know at 60 mph it should kick back down to second.

I have the HPP3 and have reprogrammed for the gear swap and tire change.

Any ideas? Let me know.I'm not even sure where to post this?

SAME HERE I THINK, JUST TO RESTATE TO VERFIY YOUR SAYING THAT WHEN CRUSING AT 60 and you slam it , it YOU WONT sHIFT ANYMORE BUT YOU USE TOO BEFORE GEAR SWAPS . IF SO I AM IN YOUR BOAT IF IM RUNNING STREET ROLL I CAN ONLY GO FORM LIKE A 40 roll or ill be out of gear it seems like. using 100% firmness helped it out a bit for me for some reason im gussing its normal and just the down side of having smaller gears. i think its just a "dead spot" (between gears to fast to go down too slow to go up in gears) beacouse something simlar use to happen but i had to be doing 100 hell if im worng let me know jpr5690@aol.com

Yes Jpr,it feels like a dead spot...not good racing from a 60 roll :D I don't want to shift it down manually going that fast,it may be to hard on the tranny.

I'm sure someone will be able to shed some light on this problem.

Try it from a 50-55 roll. My car wouldn't shift down at 60 either but it will at around 50 now.

Well, I went from 3:23 to a 3:73 and i have a similar problem (Different MPH).
HPP3 will adjust your upshifts but NOT your downshifts. You will need LS1 Edit for that.
3-2 downshift doesn't bother me but 4-3 does so I just do it manually.
In any case you are at a better advantage with A4 if you WOT below 60 with shorter gears. find out at what speed your tranny shifts down and set that speed as your Roll mark.

I'll try it from a fifty roll tonight on my way home just to see what it does.

Sounds like i need LS1 edit.
