Default DTC P0751

Hi guys,

I just had 3.73 gear put in on my 2000 transam on friday. I was told to take it easy on the car for about 500-1000 miles, which I have done. This morning I got a SES light with the DTC code of P0751. The PCM had 3 of these in rapid succession. This was not under much acceleration (maybe 10% TP). I looked up the code on Alldata and I get

1-2 Shift Solenoid Valve Performance.

Would this have anything to do with the work that was done on the car last week? I reset the code using autotap, and have not received the message again. Is this anything to worry about?

normally those are converter slip related. I'd clear it and see if they don't go away. If you start having shift problems, then consider replacement.

Well the shift from 1st to 2nd is very hard and does jerk alot. I had predator programming to increase the shift firmness and speed until friday. I removed that programming but 1-2 shiftings still seems VERY stiff. I cleared the code and it has not returned.

Just so I got it right can I just replace my stock TC with a new one to solve this problem? If so which one would you guys recommend? I mainly drive this thing for street racing. I do not have drag radials and have 3.73 gears in it at this point. Engine is fairly stock, but I am installing heads/headers/cam and a LS6 intake.

replace the 1-2 shift solenoid first. They are only about $30.

ok guys got my p0751 again. I replace the shift selenoids about 3 weeks ago. I am getting this car ready for its first drag race over the next few weeks and one of the mods is a 3200 stall converter and flexplate. Will this get rid of the p0751? any other ideas what could be causing this? I cant believe that i have gone through 2 selenoids in 3 weeks.
