4l60 e prob's

I just installed a Tranny out of a 94 lt1 into my 96 lt1 . The only diffrence between the 2 was the speed sensor located in the rear of the trans , the pig tails were completly diffrent sizes . Here's my question , i was told that if i spliced the other pigtail onto the harness it would work correctly . Well I have a check engine light on now , but yet my speedo works . Under hard acceleration in overdrive it'll hit the limiter before it will shift . In Drive it will just jerk almost feels like a broken tranny mount but i know mine is ok . And theres a funny sound from the tranny when under a load . Does that speed sensor have to be the same one out of my 96 OBD2 car to make the trans work correctly , basically does it control alot more then just speedo ?? If anyone can help me out it'd be appriciated , besides that prob trans shifts firm , great build and i have a vig 3200 stall that was just flushed ....

Pull the code, I'm guessing it'll be a TCC PWM "apply feel" solenoid error. This solenoid, along with a PWM-capable pump, was added in '95. This also added another pin in the case connector. Also, starting in 96 they changed the 3-2 downshift solenoid to a on/off design, rather than the PWM controlled solenoid. This one shouldn't be as big of a deal, since the PCM will simply toggle it on/off.

Just get the speed sensor wired up, and if you have LT1edit simply turn off the code for the missing solenoid. No problemo..
