That **** is down right sick. Imagine what they could do if they actually got traction? I'm guessing they would start to find the fatigue points of the drivetrain pretty quickly. I'm sure there aren't too many transmissions or clutches that could hold that kind of power outside of what prostock runs.

I can see that being the next evolution for these cars is running pro-stock type setups for transmissions and clutches.

I doubt these guys are going to be running a Liberty any time soon.

I honestly don't know enough to know for certain, but I remember reading where multiple different top setups were having issues with the transmissions being able to hold together at these power levels.
It would be cool to see what a pro-stock car could do if you put in a smaller set of gears considering they do close to 190 in a quarter mile. Who knows what they could do in a full mile.

Yeah, but these cars that are doing these mile-long competitions are basically street cars. Some of them are regularly driven on the street, in fact.

The record possibly could have been broken by another Ford GT. The word is they were having problems with the timing/sensor array though so the time is not official.

But Hoffman Performance ran 266mph at an event. Like I said though the equipment was having problems so the mph is not official.
