While I don't think it'll be a full 300 pounds, I do think you may be correct about it having a notable weight gain unfortunately.

I think those wheels look great. Excellent design, but they need to be polished or chrome. I'm not a fan of all black wheels at all.

I'm looking forward to this car. It may pull me away from getting an LS3 C6 in the future.

All that has to be tested to work perfectly. So in a way its not just an SS with a different motor, its a whole new model. It's coming out as a 2012 so id say its coming rather quick and just in time since the GT500 just got its HP up for 2011 and the Challenger SRT-8 just got a HP bump as well.

Z28 was green lighted September of 2009.

What kinda power did Lingenfelter/Henessey/Etc. make with their CTS-V's on the stock bottom end?

Better yet, an '02 SS with a crate LS7. Nothing like a 427 SS.

But back on topic, this new Z28 looks great, and the LSA is a welcome addition. I will seriously consider this car aganist a potential LS3 C6 purchase in the future.

They should make an LS9 version as well. Call it ZL1. Why not right?

Blower, intercooler, bigger brakes/rotors, wider tires - not too much of a stretch. All of the top muscle cars are pushing 4,000lbs fully fueled.

Unfortunately you are right. If it comes out with the same weight as a normal SS, we should all count our blessings with all the additional crap being added. I like the LSA though. Hopefully it gets some serious gear to help get it moving. PD blower torque will help that though.

The modern muscle car wars live on!

That don't mean we gotta like it. It seems self defeating to me to increase power and pile on the weight.

Now that would have been sweet. Hell I would have taken the LS3 in a 4th gen, that would have been a sick combo. I can't help but feel we got cheated out of a generation (03-09).

The blower itself adds a good chunk of weight, as does the intercooler, so theres the extra power and cooling. Brakes may or may not get bigger, wheels cant get much bigger, but the tires will get wider.

Anyone know what a new GT500 weighs?

GT500 weighs less than a Camaro SS? Ouch... looks like GM has their work cut out for them.
