Damn they are really pumping those things out. I asked a guy why he chose a challenger, he said bc you see a lot less of them everyday. Guess he was right.

The Mustang, in the eyes of the general public, has been out for 6 years now. 80% of the buyers that account for the sales numbers we are discussing don't know the 2011 mustang from the 2006 outside of the fact that it's five years newer and has different wheels. This is the very same reason that I mentioned four months ago when I said the Camaro will continue to outsell the Mustang until something newer (complete redesign) arrives.

I think that the Camaro and the Mustang are attracting different segments of drivers. Locally and on all the different message boards that I'm on it seems the Camaro is attracting a older generation of buyer, while the 2011 Mustang is attracting a younger generation.
Most of the buyers for the Camaro are buying it on nosatlgia and looks; while the Mustang owners are buying them for their performace to take to the track.

I will say that most of the old guys I know don't like any of the new retro cars. At least not to own. I only know of people around my age and younger that are interested in them...and again, most of them prefer the Camaro or Challenger SIMPLY BECAUSE they think they are the newer designs.

Iam very happy that the camaro is a hit for gm. The only reason mustangs are still selling is cause everyone wants the new 5.0 and a dealers will deal with you on a mustang vs the camaro dealer wanting top dollar.
