**Edit**
Better video with more actual track time. This thing really hits the corners better than the current SS.

That's not loud at all. One of my coworkers has a bone stock GT500, and the factory exhaust on that sounds like a mild aftermarket cat-back. The Z/28's exhaust sounds muted.

GM is much better at building hype then at building actual cars.
lets think logically about this for a second. The new camaro and the new CTS-V have been around for about 2 years now.
In that time there have been countless "Z28 spotted" type deals all around the world. Yet even thought its basically a bolt in already tested motor type deal it has been 2 years since both cars were for sale and still no Z28 available for sale, yet all of these "spotted testing!" events happen more and more frequently.

"stock systems have to meet noise standards. you really only need a muffler delete system on a 5th gen for sound and good flow. at least until you start making a ton of power."
Yeah, I know. That is why they need to provide us a butterfly setup (or something) that is easy to defeat for "track purposes only."

Its pretty funny seeing some of the posts acting like the Z28 is just an SS with a supercharger...
I guess you are forgetting they are tuning the suspension, meaning getting a good balance of street driving and track driving, while being reliable. So they have to tune in wheel rates (through springs rates and swaybars and bushings) and dampening rates as well as the alignment. They have to get the brake setup right (again must the streetable, low noise yet perform and have an acceptable life time), all the electronics (think traction control, stability, ABS, transmission programs for the slush box, etc), and tire setup as well.
And driving/tuning on the N-ring isn't about getting the best laps but getting the best feel, balance and reliability out of the car.

While the engine is already "tested" (unless they are changing things), its not tested in that chassis with that setup.
