had a friend that bought a 2002 SS. Had the engine replaced around 800 miles because it dropped a lifter.
In mass production **** happens. Now if we start seeing the lifters going out on numerous 5.0s we have a problem.

Impressive times for sure, but at that price it should come as no shock that it's faster than a base LS3 C6. I would expect no less.

Hmm....I'm thinking the estimated price isn't too bad for the package offered.
You could obviously throw together any **** pile with lots of go fast parts together for way less than a fourth the price, but that's not the point.

True, makes you wonder if you leave off the Shelby/GT350 badging they would take 15k+ off the sticker...

Very impressive, but this blurs the line for the "normal" GT500. I don't know if I buy the 525hp, but it could be on very low boost. I think this is setting the stage for the GT500 to get an increase in power with a big cube (6.2?) version of the 5.0 with a blower on it....leaving the Z28 in the dust. We need the LS9!!!

I put this car in the same catagory as the new Z28. Great car if you got 60K to spend.
I guess im just poor. I can't even imagine an $1100-$1200 car note. Yet these car companys just pump them out like its the norm.

Regardless, it's kinda hard for a $63k car to make the Z28 "look bad", seeing as the Z will be more than $10k cheaper. The Z28 is meant to compete with the GT500, which I assure you it will handle just fine. Just as Ford has Shelby to build the GT350, we have SLP and Lingenfelter to destroy it.

He put it in the same class as the Z28, not me. And we can certainly get a pretty good idea of how the Z28 will perform; pretty damn close to the CTS-V coupe.

I guess I should find solace in the fact that the Shelby moniker is obviously more affordable than Iacocca. That mustang was a substance per dollar atrocity.
