Chrysler's Manly Family Haulers in Chicago Got a wife and some children? Chrysler's been busy tweaking Dodges to make them a bit more man friendly as well as family friendly.
2011 Dodge Caravan R/T (283HP)
2011 Dodge Durango Heat (292HP) and R/T (360HP)
Dodge now offers the performance oriented R/T trim with over 250hp on most of it's lineup. From the family minivan on the left to the crossover on the right.

The Durango finally looks proper again. I like what they've done there. But the Caravan? Sorry, no amount of badges can turn a minivan into something it is not...........cool. In any way.

Yes, a stretched version of the same platform.
When I recently went to the Detroit (North American) Auto Show, the Durango was one of the cars/trucks that I really liked. I've always liked Tahoes and Suburbans (Escalades) but the Durango was just as nice.

I don't see an issue with offering a minivan with a sportier look inside and out. Those of you who have small kids and hauled them in a car versus a minivan where they have more of their own space may see it the same way.

)Besides all that, there's still nothing remotely sporty about this new Caravan. It looks like the same old bland originator of the segment that it's always been.

Minivan packaging (and fuel economy) is vastly better than SUVs as well. It's also a bonus that they drive like cars.
A friend of mine had an Element SUV that was used to truck around kids and replaced it with a low mileage 2nd gen Pontiac Montana (the original sporty minivan). The Montana is about a million times better and it returns 23mpg city overall compared to 19mpg city.

We have a Odyssey and it's an excellent people mover. It will also outrun most sport utes (Vtec baby!!) and handles way better. Kudos to Dodge for their efforts.
