Props for our board members
Just wanted to give props to those in our board who made "Fastest LS1s" in Hot Rod this past issue. I was amazed to see a cam only car in the 10's !!! and a h/c combo also in the tens. Simply awesome. It just goes to show that proper planning and careful selection and combo of parts goes further than just getting the best and biggest of everything and hope it all works out.

Yes, that was nice to see. The reason that cam only car was in the 10s was weight. His race weight was only 3200lbs. That is about 500 lbs lighter than the average F-Body that has a roll bar in it.

It was also an M6 at 700ft above sea level.

I think the cam only car was pretty damn impressive myself. Especially if you figure hes wasn't that much slower than the H/C car.
I would like to second the congratulations to the people who made Fastest LS1's.
People like them make us all look good.

Key board warrior??? NOT! I'll post timeslips as soon as I get to the track. Let me see, a 409 LS1 11.5-1 comp, 6.0L stage II heads, milled .030, MTI R1 cam, all forged internals, 12 bolt, twin disk clutch, Holley intake, LS1 edit, pulley, lid, filter, cold air system (custom made), 2 step, window switch, NX MAF kit, etc.... Maybe I sounded a little stuck up, I never meant it that way.

UH, 409 is the cubic inches, not the HP. Take a 6.0L block out of a truck, bore it .030 over and put in a 4" stroke crank. It is actually 408.something.
