The price tag is probably going to crush many dreams lol and rid the Corvette of its ability to embarass cars 2 or 3 times its price cause now it's one of those cars.

It really shows how dated and bland the prior design really was.

C6 residuals will probably go into the toilet now, good news if you're in the market for one.

Beatiful car, wonder how the Z06 and ZR1 will look and perform if they decide to make those in a C7.

Oh thank you. I was hearing 80k from a bunch of people and it was freaking me out lol.

That motortrend link you posted doesn't work for me. Anyone else?

i wouldnt expect this motor to rev to the moon. BUT i do like that Chevy has returned to low end torque. LS3 has 6.2 liters and very little torque at 2000-3000 rpms compared with this engine. It will feel like a big block down low. a corporate engine that can pull like hell. bye bye LS series of big port low torque -- HP monsters.

copying the Ford example(little torque/high rom hp)that Mark Donahue/Dale Earnhardt had going for them....monstrous low end and mid range...sufficient HP.

I haven't found any mention of the final curb weight - the chassis is 99 lbs lighter, and the body work is 37 lbs lighter. There are a couple pounds here and there shaved off from revised suspension components, so let's just round to 140 lbs lighter. The 10" wide wheels won't weigh much, and the brakes aren't all that big either.

Previous curb was ~3,350, so the new one should be at least around 3,200 lbs, provided things like the new 7-speed transmission doesn't weigh a ton more (probably doesn't). That's a far cry from the 3,000 lbs I've seen floating around, but have they actually stated an estimated curb weight for this thing?

i hate comments like this. I guess it's because i grew up with C2 and C3 vettes. Corvette/GT40's/Cobras whipped the world at the track, but it was never a price/speed thought.

It was American Iron owning europe. C5R/C6R 427's are kind of in that ILK.

It was low tech inches/chasis beating everyone. I'm fine with the tech in this car. I'm fine if it's expensive. what i'm not fine with is getting buried in Tech by mercedes/ferrari, etc.

low weight, massive torque, great chasis. C7 corvette stingray is already a winner.

OH DID I MENTION THE VETTE FINALLY HAS STYLE

BY GOD IT HAS STYLE. vette hasnt had style since 1982 IMO.

in order to have a better power to weight than a R8 it needs to weight less than 3280.

It's really growing on me.. But haven't heard anything about the rear spring setup.

It still has Corvtte lines to it.

The interior is a bit "futuristic" and slightly Radical...

The seats still kind of look like the C6's.. Look at the head rest itself..

Almost looks like a Viper

7 Speed trans?? Really? What about dual final drives instead?

Anxious to see it in person.. But I still dream of a C6Z or GS.. I think the C6's are dead sexy and I guess my dream of owning a brand new one isn't going to happen.

I heard $60k base price.

Looks better in ALMOST EVERY way. The tail will take some getting used to. Honestly though, this car is now..more then EVER..capable of being popular outside of the US.

Bravo General, Bravo.

It's still under $100k.. Which is still a bargain in the Exotic market..

For a C6? Not with the new C7 running around 53K, expect the C6 prices to drop.

not crazy about the available colors. No cool orange metallic's . And who would want dark green in a $50k+ sports car? That lime green they offered on the camaro for one year was sharp.

I'd like to hear more specifics on the trans and suspension. Is the 6 speed auto a dual clutch?

I'm with everyone else when I say I'm dissappointed with the rear.

Glad to see it dropped some weight tho, Any reports on actual curb weight?

I loke everything except the rear.
And I am probably one of very few who do NOT like all the technology.

I love it...even the rear. **** round taillights. They can go in the same junk bin as pop up headlights.

Also the *** end (which has been HUGE for 2 gens) finally has something back there to break it up instead of being one huge flat blank wall of nothing

Love the interior minus the 2 tone ones. In solid black/gray it will look amazing with the carbon fiber and aluminum accents
