I'd take the ST over the Si any day. I tested each and the only reason I didn't get the ST is because I really want it with an auto and paddle shifters. To me, it seemed far and away, the better car where performance is concerned. Fit & finish, etc., is about identical. The Si also kinda annoyed me with its noise and the ST engine grumbles as if its bigger than it is. It does feel much more powerful though, than the Si. I also preferred the Accord over the Si and it may just be quicker too!

Believe it or not, the Si is RIGHT there with the ST as far as acceleration is concerned. Because of the 100lb/ft advantage the ST feels faster though (especially down low), and with passengers/cargo it would certainly hold an advantage. I think the Civic's interior is noticeably better (though the ST is well put together as well), especially since I would be getting an ST1 interior package with the ST. So it's basically a Focus SE on the inside.

I drove the ST3 and 2, but the 1... Nope. Looked it over and didn't like it. Too plain and if that's the choices you have in mind, I'd take the Civic too, but don't roll race an ST with it until you've modified something because over about 30mph, it would have no shot at keeping up. Since I didn't track either car(obviously, on a test drive), I can only say the Si felt loud while the ST felt quick. Neither is in the Mustang or Camaro territory till around 110mph(where I suspect they have a speed limiter) and I think either would be in the lead to that point anyway.
Because of the transmission, I moved on and to some degree regret that. However, since I had surgery on my foot soon after the purchase, I am glad I got an automatic.

Did Ford outsell all GM in America this yr? I'd think all GM cars and trucks would outsell Ford for sure. In the pickup department, Ford apparently outsold combined GM trucks by nearly 80,000. That certainly helps in an overall sense. Forgot about Avalanche being separated.

Yep. Including all full size "trucks," Ford sold roughly 98,600 more full size... Adding in Avalanche you get a difference of 82,074 and if you also add in the Colorado and Canyon(only 929 sold), your difference is 77,733 and that's fairly significant.

Only the Canyon... Colorado sold over 3400. That, of course, is a joke in terms of pickup sales for either. Toyota sold closer to 11-12,000 per month, like Ford used to with the Ranger.
