Trash, weird looking lights on both ends and looks like a squished 5th gen to fit the smaller ATS platform. Gota wait to see it without camo cover but it really doesnt look like they changed a whole lot besides the ugly ass tail and headlights. More like a 3rd refreshed version of the 5th gen rather than a 6th gen to me... I hope the cute little spoiler is optional too...

It almost looks like a small inter-cooler up front... probably just a condenser though.

Don't worry about the lights, folks... Those are definitely not production parts. They'll never make it to the line, but Chevy is probably using them just to mask the overall look. I also think the grille won't be the one we see. The Camaro looks a bunch like the current, but the wheelbase does look quite long among all the swirls.

I don't see anything about it that makes me think ATS rather than CTS chassis, but the paint can be very deceptive. I think it's just too long to be the ATS and besides, GM is positively NEVER going to offer a standard V8 Camaro that competes with the Corvette. They've made that mistake and will not repeat it.:judge:

You mean no LT1? They absolutly have no other choice but to put the LT1 in the 6th gen. Or the Camaro will be put to rest for good, again.

Hideous.....perhaps my opinion would change when the real thing shows up but those are some weird proportions, too close to the current thing.

I know they said evolutionary rather then revolutionary but I hope it doesn't just
Look like a fifth gen shrunk by 10%to fit the smaller ats platform.
Of course after saying this I will Admit that this is all outweighed by a smaller , lighter more powerful car that should be a blast to drive.

No, I don't mean no LT1. I mean noway will it be lighter than the Corvette and overall, GM simply won't make the SS to actually compete with Corvette... it wouldn't make sense.

Lookin good so far....i dig it

Does have a look reminiscent of the late GTO in the first two pics.

2.0T is going to be available, so don't rule that intercooler out...

Agree.

Thank you... someone noticed! I was just drawing attention to that. :D

Oh, and if it's anything like that in the Mustang, it's bound to be a hit!

Tainted 10-01-2014 12:46 PM

and here I was thinking chevy couldn't have done a worse job with the 5th gen and here I stand corrected. They have really out-uglied every car ever built.

good job engineers, another ugly ass pos to add to your lineup

Design =/= engineering.

I agree with ya. Is there really anyone who believes the next gen Camaro will be around 3400lbs? LOL they need to wake up from their dream. 3500lbs would be the best we could hope for. I call 3600.

Whats wrong with the 5th gen? Heavy, ok. For a 08-09' IRS car, its not that bad; 15' Stang fully loaded is 3900lbs. 10-14' Camaro is like 3850lbs fully loaded.

Car is ugly? Its all subjective, but I can tell you that everyday, theres a ton more plp looking at my 5th Gen than my 4th gen.

5th gen is a great car IMO. Concept car on the road, on many automakers did that? And its cheap.

And they sell like hot cake.

You have the right to hate it though. 5th gen hate has always been strong on this site.

SparkyJJO 10-01-2014 08:46 PM

You guys commenting on the lights keep forgetting that they rarely put production lights on the test mules. Look at the wacky lights the 5th gen test mules had.

Those lights (particularly the tails) scream just making it street legal, purely function only. Basic, round, blah lights shoved in the positions.

And given the official curb weight of the 4th gen being around 3500 pounds anyone wishing for a 3400 pound 6th gen needs their head checked :P

No...that's the base curb weight. And a fully-loaded '15 Mustang is closer to 3,800.

whytryz28 10-02-2014 01:16 AM

I like it so far. Something I'd buy

Yeah 3806 and 3814lbs in 2 tests. Point is, for a 08' design, 5th gen is not that heavy. Lets wait till we see some base Mustang weight with no option an 18'' wheels, but even then, my 1SS 1LE weighted 3780lbs stock, sort of a stripper Camaro SS but with 20inch wheels and big brakes.
