GM in financial trouble
#6
The "corporate culture" continues to dominate decisions at GM. Their financial commitments to dealerships mean it would be very difficult (and costly) to start "shortchanging" any of the Divisions. And how they fight amongst themselves. It is a corporation designed for growth, not shrinkage. What the hell do they do now? And I'm rooting for them, since they're the home team.

I personally think that it is sad that General Motors can’t get their act together. They have been such a dominate force in the automotive industry for decades and now that they are faced with some serious competition they don’t know how to respond. I agree that with the author that they need to consolidate a lot of their lines, lower the price and eliminate the various unnecessary trim packages. I doubt they will take any of this to heart though I can still keep my hopes up and continue to support an American manufacturer.
