Default True Clutch And Stick For E60 M5 and E63/64 M6

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/56...ual_m5_m6.html

As I'm sure everyone knows the current M5 and M6 are only available with 7 speed SMGs. Well when the cars were only in the concept phase there was talk that if customers (specifically US customers who voiced that they prefered true clutch and stick manuals over SMG) made it clear to BMW that they wouldn't purchase an M vehicle because it was missing a third pedal BMW would probably retrofit a 6 speed manual with a stick and clutch into the M5 and M6. Well apparently that has happened and BMW is seriously considering a manual transmission option on the E60 and E63/64 M cars. If they do go ahead with this decision it will more than likely mean that the upcoming M Roadster based on the Z4 and the E90 M3 (which will both pack a V8 version of the V10 used in the M5 and M6) will be available with said 6 speed as well since the engine is a modular design. One can only hope that DC will follow suit and offer a 6 speed manual on some of the 6.1L Hemi powered SRT-8 cars.
