I agree, it looks godawful and it's still a Cavalier by another name.
I'm not exactly thrilled with the Toyota-ish Japanese styling of the new Malibu and current Impala either, they are terrible looking cars.
It also sounds like GM isn't going to do anything to change that.

Yo may not like the style of the new Malibu, but it seems alot of people are enjoying it. If you think about it, it can't hurt to use some Japanese styling since thats whats selling now.

Don't bother. You (or GM/domestics) cannot win with the import only sheeple!! 
GM/domestics and those who feel they are trying and actually ARE making good product will always be 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' to import brainwashed lemmings.
Japan, Inc. did a GREAT job with the above said brainwashing.
Like I've said before, have fun paying > $75K for your still bland as ****, no better quality than this Cobalt, Corolla when it is the ONLY game in town (like all of you just can't wait for it to be)!!

I know you guys keep saying, oh bother how bland this Cobalt is...when you should really be happy that we don't have that old one running around...the old Sedan is gross-looking, not just bland.
