CTS-V Motor Mounts
I've see some discussion in the past over motor mounts. My 2004 has an engine vibration which I can feel at almost exactly 1500 RPM which seems to have gotten worse over the last year. Since the car is in it's winter resting place (the garage) for the next few months I was looking to investigate and try to resolve.
Is there any way to determine if the motor mount is bad? I've heard that they are liquid filled, I haven't noticed any leaks from them, but I haven't made it under the car to take a close look yet.
I also see that there are some folks running aftermarket mounts, how are the vibration levels with these replacements. Currently the car is completely stock with 27K, but if I don't upgrade to a 2009, then I will finally begin some modifications to this car - in which case a better mount may be considered.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Motor Mount Alternative
Borrowing from early Chevy drag technology, I'm using a cable restraint (low tech/low buck) on the driver's side of the engine that will limit engine movement. It has just enough slack to allow the required movement during normal operation, but will limit the amount of torsional moment on the driver's side engine mount.
Works fine so far!

I have all the UUC mounts from Luke and they are awesome. I put my headers on before the motor mounts and the headers rubbed stuff and even rubbed the steering shaft. Really hard when I made a right turn! I bought the UUC mounts and all the rubbing went away. No bad vibs at all. Car feels stock only its better! Do not hesitate to get the mounts. I even had them with a huge loppy cam and they didnt beat the car at all.

Jon, , what is the height of the mount overall and just the poly itself?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I am going to use c5 corvette mounts but they are shorter in height. The hydralic stock ones compess some as the orginal UUC were too tall.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Just some food for thought there about your signature.
Though, as it stands, I would say it is reasonably a badass signature picture. But next time you sell something, please make sure you hold a sign up in the window of your Trans Am while doing your burnouts stating that the item you had for sale, is sold.
It would help to clear up any further confusion and 2 year old posts from getting bumped back to the top.
