I just saw in the auto parts store they sell spray on duct tape....I'm sure an LS in an sts can be done, all depends on how much money you have.

lol. made me laught. but what does spray on duck tape have to do with it? lol

i have been doing some digging since i posted the questions. the v8 sts has a 6l80 in it in 2007. so that will bolt right up to the ls. now i just need to find out if the oil pan with bolt up to the ls.

any one have one laying around? lol

The spray on duct tape was just my way of saying anything can be done...actually really cool ****, you can spray it on a leaking pressure hose with it still wet and it'll seal it.

The STS4 is the all-wheel drive version. Cadillac makes a CTS4 as well in the current generation. They're not very common. AWD with LS power in a Caddy would rock! I don't see how it would be too hard given that the STS and CTS share the Sigma platform. As noted above, one issue would be the oil pan, especially on an AWD version.

Why go to all the trouble to swap an ls motor in, when you could just supercharge the stock northstar v8 and effectively have an all wheel drive sts4 V?!?

My exact thought, considering the sts-v motor is nothing more than the caddy 4.6 4V V8 with a blower on top.....

It's a little different. It is 4.4L (smaller bore) and was designed for the supercharger.
Probably a search in the 'bone yards' or Ebay for a supercharged 4.4L would be the way to go.
How about an LS in and XLR? Now you're talkin'!

there is a lot of a difference in the 4.6 and a ls. like aftermarket parts. i aint thinking of a bolt on 400 horse ls. i want like a 650 turbo ls. or built 427. something like that.

but the awd gives me a year around car. i have snow. it sucks. my fast car is my ta.

...I was thinking you ment like a 94 sts or something along the lines of that...front drive only.

I have seen awd cts-sts platforms at work...never heard of the "4" with it.

have fun with the rendering

To add to that you can use the Trailblazer SS/Saab 9-7X oil pans. Both of those had LS2s with AWD. I'm thinking it might be the same pan as the Denalis.

i will check. but i should have a 4.6L northstar oil pan gasket from the dealer by end of next week. then i will just compare it to the ls pan. worst case. i cut the flang off and weld on a LS pan flange. but this will be done. hope to find car with in a couple of weeks.

guys know any for a steal? i want a white or black 2008 sts4 with black int. must have 4.6L and i dont care about miles. higher the better. just want body to look good.

then i will put in the V grill and V brakes. and go beat some evos and mustang. lol.

To get the AWD to work , let alone hold the power will be a huge challenge.

I dont mean to rain on your parade but it would make alot more sence to just buy a cts-v.

Alot less headaches and would cost less aswell.

LSx swaps are worth the effort and money in light cars like rx7's, 240sx's and etc.
I dont see the point of doing a swap into a sts4.
