seriously, am i the only one that hovers around 11mpg all the time?

100% stock.

if it helps, i'm pretty sure there isn't a single time i don't go WOT in any gear no matter the rpm. i guess i'm a bit frustrated because of a friend who was pissed off getting 15mpg.

I baby it and get 17-18 average. My only mods are a magnaflow cat back, homemade intake tube and a dyno tune....I used to get 20-21, thats mostly highway driving though.

guitar333 07-23-2010 10:13 AM

I get 14mpg on most of my fill ups. The more highway I drive, the closer I get to 16-18mpg...

onebadcad 07-23-2010 11:03 AM

I have had recent tankfuls that averaged under 10mpg. Thank goodness my DD is my fuel efficient, rarely over 2K rpm, 700HP, 23mpg city and highway, C6.

ITSAV 07-23-2010 11:18 AM

when i was stock I got about 14-15 mpg for city driving......if its 100% hwy I got like 23 mpg....I'll have to see what I get with the new stuff

KamaSutra 07-23-2010 11:19 AM

Fill it up to a full tank and reset the gauge. Change your driving habit to skip shift more and coast in neutral when possible.

Slow skip shift = 1 - 4 - 6
Accelerated skip shift = 1 - 3 - 5 (6)

Start in 2nd when possible and avoid any shift over 3k. Avoid accelerating towards stop signs/lights when not necessary. If you drive a certain route, get to know the light timing so you know when you can continue coasting or stop since you won't make the intersection.

I still manage 20mpg city and still have a couple of WOT moments throughout the day. Its all about driving habit and understanding traffic flow.

smashn808 07-23-2010 11:26 AM

I average about 16 with mixed driving.

Maybe you parking brake sticks or your air filter is clogged. JK

I think I may have figured out why your mileage sucks.

Your frustration is entirely your own doing. Stop driving like an ass-clown and (amazingly enough) your mileage will drastically improve.

Except that someone lowered it so far that the tires are tucked like the suspension is broken. But other than that it looks great.

I'm a pretty aggressive driver and I average about 17mpg, because of traffic. 50/50 split of highway and city driving.

Twitch1 07-23-2010 02:32 PM

In NYC I'm usually under 10mpg. I'm used to it, and enjoy driving my car.

maxspeed05V 07-23-2010 02:33 PM

im getting 13/14 avg around the city and Im not easy with the throttle.

yesterday I did a 120mile road trip. Reset the the avg on the navi .

and after cruising at about 70-75 My avg highway MPG was 24.5 after the trip. I was impressed.

but to bad I dont have the self control to always drive like that lol

i have to say this is the same scenario i'm in. i live 10 minutes from work of which i rarely use a highway, and i do in a sense "drive" my car profusely.

i guess i was just looking to see if i was a loner in this category considering my diesel truck lifted on 44s got around the same mpg.

Lee-AnnMarie 07-23-2010 03:40 PM

We get 24 mpg on the highway with the mods in my sig.. Around town I drive her a little hard and average 18-19!! But I agree with above, at least it looks good sitting at the pump lol

whisler151 07-23-2010 03:47 PM

The more you mod the better mileage if you can get.

Any time I see the avg mpg go above 12 I punch myself in the balls. This car should be driven, not babied.

87vertgt 07-23-2010 03:48 PM

I love the way it sits....More pics of Rims!

HAHAHAHAHA...i couldnt agree more...

i think the only time i will have a high MPG is my road trip to Cali, but i will be surprised at myself if i can get here above 20.

i may not take my V to work or to buy shit, but when i do take her out, i am going to drive her like i am paying 3 bucks a ride...:D
