Default First time at the track with the V

Ran the V today for the first time; the car is completely stock minus a short shifter and muffler delete. It was a bit hot today (mid to low 80s with not much of a breeze), ran the car right around noon, and didn't allow much of a cool-down after my hour drive to the track, so needless to say I wasnt expecting anything incredible. Here are the two runs:

Run 1:

R/T... .370
60'... 2.274
1/8... 9.110
MPH.. 82.56
1/4... 13.827
MPH.. 102.51

Run 2:

R/T... .108
60'... 2.238
1/8... 9.096
MPH.. 81.98
1/4... 13.831
MPH.. 102.43

Just out of curiosity, what are most stock V's running?

I'm okay with the times, hoping to get a little bit more out of my MPH but one thing that I've noticed is this track seems to have a bit lower traps than other places I've ran (with my Kenne Bell Cobra I would trap 124mph there, but almost everywhere else I was consistently trapping 127-128mph.... dunno why).

Heres a quick vid I made with my GoPro

heres a cool, unrelated video I took of the V with the GoPro at the local AutoX event a few weeks ago...

I just went for the first time a few weeks back and ran 13.61 at 101.x.

Mid 13's is what stockers are running. I don't think there are any in the 12's stock, and if so I'd be curious how the heck they launched that good!

Default My first time w/ the V today too!

NICE!! It was my first time @ the track w/ the V today too! I went to Island Dragway in NJ. Here were my runs:

Run 1:

R/T... .126
60'... 2.232
1/8... 8.928
MPH.. 83.56
1/4... 13.574
MPH.. 106.18

Run 2:

R/T... .742
60'... 2.145
1/8... 8.972
MPH.. 82.02
1/4... 13.666
MPH.. 105.73

Run 3:

R/T... .125
60'... 2.314
1/8... 8.995
MPH.. 84.37
1/4... 13.614
MPH.. 106.85

I only did 3 runs, could of went more but I felt with my stock RS-A's, I couldn't do much better. So I just enjoyed the others and I will return in the spring with more suitable tires. There was a V2 there running 11.9 @ 118's!

Vids of runs 2 and 3 (nevermind my friend's wise @ss remarks) :

I know man, one of the reasons I didn't wanna press my luck. That particular run I just had a bad launch, but the first run (the one that wasn't video taped) I launched well but had some bad wheel hop on the 1-2 shift. Either way I think diff mounts and axels are in order soon. I can't wait for my Magnaflow cat back to get here this week!

With the exception of a UUC short shifter I'm stock. I believe the temps were about 40-45 degrees out today...

your wishing for our weather and were wishing for yours lol.

id think traps for a stock V should be at least 106+. Itll come with practice......which i cant bring myself to do. Diffs are too expensive and I hop like a **** at the track.

do these things pull timing with the stock tune when IATs get high?

I think with somewhat decent conditions I'd be around 105-106. Either way I'm not real concerned, i'd rather throw this thing around some curves.

Yes. They are ultra-sensitive to the IAT.

I've never been to the track with mine but this kind of confirms what I had suspected: these ARE slower stock than the two other cars I was considering (G8 GXP and SRT-8). Someone disagreed with me but it seems to me there are examples of both in the high 12s and it's not just the launch. They run faster traps, too. I blame our flywheels. I still love the car, of course.
