Thank god the hi-po version is going to keep a V8. Can't stand the movement towards turbo and supercharged 6 cylinders.

They should just style the ATS coupe exactly like the Cadillac Converj Concept, it'd be a hit for sure.

I don't really get it. Are they ending the CTS or something? How would this fit in Cadillacs lineup?

Suprised to see 16 mpg on a 2014. Seems confusing in the V lineup unless they eliminate the CTS.

ATS = 3 Series/ C Class/ A4
CTS = 5 Series/ E Class/ A6
XTS = 7 Series/ S Class/ A8

No more XLR, STS or DTS.

Realistically it's moving up to what the STS used to be I think.

the cts is going to be around its current size while the xts will take over the gap from the sts/dts and go after the 7 series.

the ats will be a fun car i think if this is true.

Saw info on the ATS-V on gminsidenews.com the other day, but just looked and it's not there anymore. Kinda surprised about the 6.2 going in it. Even more disturbing is no MT availability is mentioned.

Oh, btw, that compression ratio is attainable because they're using direct fuel injection now. Good stuff.

Before we get to excited, these specs are from someone who is predicting what the car will be equipped with. That person is not from GM. Nothing confirmed as of yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

i realize this is probably all speculation and probably someone who is just guessing on what the ats will be equiped with. but i would think they would use the gen V lsx motor in a 2014 model. I love the thought of possibly having a direct injection 6.2 but i just dont see it happening. I also hope this isn't a fairly big car (around 3550-3650lbs would be perfect). 279hp and 330hp sounds on par with the current 3 series but im sure by 2014 bmw will have a different motor as well.

im not normally the pessimistic type, but i really hope technology brings us better options for a cadillac by 2014...

if i recall they already use direct injection on the current 5.5 race motor in the c6 gt2 car. so im sure its going to be in a street car soon.
