Default Looked at a V today

Hey guys,

So I looked at a V today. 2007, 55k miles, pretty clean in and out. Asking 24999.

I walked out since they wouldnt budge on a price at all. There were a couple things I wanted them to drop the price for.

1. Rattling door panels.
2. Chrome wheels pitting
3. Pedal covers missing - I remember seeing the Vs with bright "racing" type pedals. These ones were just black and it looks like it had little circles where the covers would clip in.

Clutch engagement - The clutch seemed to engage a short distance from off the floor. Is that normal?

Am I out of line for wanting the car at around 23k? School me please. Im expecting a call back in a few days saying they can drop it. I know its hard to give a "what would you pay" answer without actually driving it, but a ball park answer would be cool.

Thats a good price for an 07.

1. My doors rattle
2. Cheap fix
3. V's pedals are just plain black. EDIT: unless it changed in the later V1's

Not a bad price. I was selling my V for $28k with less miles. The doors are going to rattle (especially with loud exhaust or a cam), wheels eventually show wear...and the pedals? I bought my V new in 2007 and black is what you get. The 2009+ Vs come with nice looking pedals.

$25k for a stock 2007 V in good shape is a good deal. In my area there are stock 2007 Vs going for $27K-$29K.

To the OP, What state do you live in? I run a dealership in Florida and I can probably get you a better deal if you want to tell me exactly what your looking for I.E. Year(s) and Mileage Pref/Limit and Spending limit. I see them run through the sales here and for the most part 04-05 can be bought for in the mid to upper teens and 06-07 in the upper teens to low 20's. Let me know, maybe I can help.

Im located in CA.

Didnt know about the pedals. Can anyone comment on the clutch engagement? I think im just used to the way my mini's clutch is.

Thanks for the comments on the price, I just didnt want to pay too much.

I would go aftermarket (Monster level II). If not for better engagement, for the lighter flywheel. It will make all the difference in the world.

Just paid $21,250 for an 06 with 47k from a local dealer. This is not a perfect car by any means either, but has no major problems. Also, nearby i know of a lady that only got $18,000 trade in from a dealer for an 05 with 49k. This should give you a couple price references to go from. i did alot of research before my purchase and think your $23,000 is reasonable.

Sounds like a decent car. All your issues are either normal or easy fixes(wheels).

I just bought my car at the end of january. Its a 06 and had 38k on it. I paid 27.7 for mine and it was in PRISTINE condition inside and out. So if this one is even close in condition it sounds like a good deal.

Check the carfax, I found MOST Vs on the market right now are actually old lease cars. and I have a issue with buying a lease car just like i would with a rental. People do BAD things to performance cars they dont OWN.
